The General Committee
A new General Committee is being formed for the academic year 2009-2010. If you are interested in joining, please use the Contact Form to get in touch with us. Freshers are particularly welcome!
Nisha Nesaratnam (St. Catharine's)
Hi, I'm Nisha, a first-year medic from St. Catharine's. I'm really excited about the SciSoc events for this year, and am looking forward to seeing you all there!
Peter Hatfield (Pembroke)
Hi, I'm Peter, 1st year Mathmo at Pembroke! As part of the GC I'm keen to help develop the society and its talks over the year; I assist at events and support other general SciSoc matters. It's great fun and I'm looking forwards to the year ahead!
Clare Bernstein (King's)
Hi i'm Clare, a first year BioNatSci from King's. I wanted to get involved with SciSoc to hear interesting talks, and also to meet other like-minded and fun scientists! In the future I want to go into research, perhaps in neuroscience or biochemistry.
Peter Ackermann (Churchill)
Hi, I was SciSoc's president in 2008-09 and continue supporting this great society as member of the GC. I am very fortunate indeed to see such a creative, dynamic and successful EC continue the effort to professionalise SciSoc and increase its benefits for members. Come join us, too!
David Ennever (Robinson)
Hi, I'm David. I assist Dan with publicity, which mainly involves sneaking around colleges slapping up SciSoc event posters on the walls when no-one's looking. I also co-ordinate the publicity emails, which we send out several times a week to let you know about events, news and cool stuff.
Jake Harris (King's)
I'm Jake and I do Natural Sciences at King's. I'm on the Sci Soc General Comittee which means I put up posters and acetates in lectures and generally spread the good news of SciSoc to anyone who will listen.
James Wawrzynski (Peterhouse)
Hi, I’m SciSoc’s ex-president and I’m now on the GC to show my continued support for this exceptional society. I’m incredibly proud to see the new committee continue and expand upon the successes of previous years. My role now is just to offer any help/advice that I can and to ensure continuity within the society. The SciSoc committee is a fantastic team and I strongly encourage you to get involved. In my spare time I’m a medic currently studying neuroscience at Peterhouse.
All SciSoc events are open to everyone - you don't necessarily have to be a member! (Membership will give you some benefits though...)
