The society
The Cambridge University Scientific Society was founded in 1995 with the goal of promoting all branches of science at a level both stimulating to those studying science, and accessible to those with an arts background. We hold lectures and seminars which are open to members and non-members alike. We also offer a diverse and expanding range of social events. Interested parties should sign up for our society email list to receive notification on upcoming lectures and other happenings. Membership is open to all members of the university, and to persons outside the university at the discretion of the committee. As well as free entry to lectures and most seminars, members receive other benefits such as a 10% Waterstone's discount for selected items, priority booking at social events and being kept up-to-date with details of forthcoming events The society is honoured to be accredited by the distinguished scientists that are our patrons - Sir Michael Atiyah, Professor Antony Hewish, Sir Aaron Klug, Professor Salvador Moncada and Professor Heinz Wolff. To find out more about the society and what we do, browse through our other pages or contact any of the committee members. Any enquiries and comments are most welcome. If you wish to advertise an event on the society email list or add a link to the Links page then do get in touch. The committee will make a decision based upon the pertinence of the proposal to goals of the society. |
